I think it's fairly obvious that Protection Prayers doesn't have an outstanding red-bar-go-up skill for 8-man use. Aura of Faith isn't much of a heal: it doubles the heal from Divine Favour, but at 80+ per heal it's not much. Its power comes from the ~50% reduced damage and the increased heal for the other Monk, not from its doubled Divine Favour heal. Dismiss Condition is great, but still 71 + 42 = 113 heal is not a lot, less than Patient Spirit. It removes a condition with the great side effect of healing a fair bit, but that's all. RoF and SB do not make red bars go up; they stop red bars from going down - there's a difference. RC is conditional; you cannot use it whenever you need to if there are no conditions. To make red bars go up effectively you pretty much have to invest in Healing Prayers (or bring Blessed Light / Divine Healing / Heaven's Delight). The Monk with 14 Prot 13 Divine will do a great job of making red bars go down less, but he can't make red bars go up very well.

One is saying you need prots when not running imbagon, and heals mostly when you do
The other is saying you don't need prots when running imbagon so you can go mostly with heals.

Was this clear or do you need another 10 RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing pages to understand you are saying the same thing as upier. Is there a single thread where you don't end up flaming some user?

I change my mind on this one after trying out a rather weird Aura of Faith bar. A Monk with 14 Prot 13 Divine can do a decent job of making red bars go up without running ZB if he's using both Aura of Faith and Dismiss Condition - Aura of Faith is ~80 heal, and then Dismiss with the doubled healing is over 200. But there's a heavy price. Aura of Faith has an 8-second cooldown, and is not always available when you need it. If team bars start falling alarmingly, you cannot make them go up again quickly. That's a big difference between heal and prot. The Prot Monk will do a great job of making red bars go down less, but he can't make red bars go up very well.
